Birdie & Jay
An opening title sequence for the adaptation of the book Birdie & Jay, written by Ella Joy Olsen, that takes place in the early 1900s. “Birdie a young woman born into high society, has a deep passion for art and science which leads her to a position at the Museum of Natural History. This is where she meets her love interest of a different social class and chases after him and his archeological discoveries.”
Final storyboard for Birdie & Jay title sequence. Aesthetics and themes were inspired by Victorian era paintings, scrapbook clippings, and the romanticization of writing letters. Birds are often mentioned throughout the book in the form of symbolism and nicknames for the characters themselves so these were important elements to include.
